At least it is to me.(-) * Smaller values are better. A story that, at its highest level is about an entire universe/existence with rules very different than our own and filled with potential stories, is mind-expanding. And since that kind of mirrors real life (the universe is very large and some questions will never be answered), that’s very satisfying to me.Ī story about Jesse and the FBC would have been awesome. It’s expanded the story to the extent that everything can never be resolved.

There are clear courses of action and conclusions, but building a universe in this way raises so very many more questions than it could ever answer, which leaves so much more room to build and explore. My feeling is that by connecting the two games, they have significantly expanded the universe of each into what feels like a wild and untamable thing, which is very exciting to me.Ī self-contained game can be lovely, of course. I respect what you’re saying, but I have to disagree. If there any clue in Control that Jess could be Beth or they could be sisters or alt universe versions of each other with same mother and father? Is Jess somehow revived Beth with some amnesia and fake memories caused by bullet in a head (you know, Remedy has a history of reviving lead female characters with bullet in a head, hello Mona Sux!)? So, how are remedy going to address this issue, that same actor plays two major roles of different characters in same universe? Are they twin sisters separated in childhood? Is Jess alternate timeline version of Beth where her parents break up and moved to different place and where she is given different name and surname of mother or adopted father? Yet game happens in same universe as Alan Wake and in Quantum Break it was also stated that its same universe and Alan Wake is favorite author of Jack! Then when game came out and it happened to be not Beth but Jesse, different character. I have not fully finished Control yet, but since the day of announce i felt like its a spin off to Quantum Break with Beth as main character because face looked very familiar.
